Best place in town for Chinese food. Great people.

Never had a bad meal here, I've eaten several dishes and they've all been so delicious. The sizzling happy family, orange chicken, sticky ribs, honey walnut shrimp, and sweet and sour are among my favorite. Ive also had great veggie dishes too! Everything is so fresh tasting and the service is also spectacular. I highly recommend that if you're looking for a new place to eat in SM let this be your first choice!!!

I can't explain the terrible dry chicken i just received from take out thru door dash. This food is the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Taste dry and as though it was made days ago then microwaved prior to delivery. What a disappointment for $43 bucks. Not to mention that we received our food with NO plasticware at all, nothing to eat with.

It was my third time in this restaurant, and they do have better Chinese food offerings than other restaurants. Though our egg foo young didn’t taste fresh, and it was soaked in sauce, the appetizer platter wasn’t worth it except for the egg roll, and shrimps and our soup came warm, not hot. It’s a busy restaurant, but the quality of food should not be compromised, and they don't have Chinese desserts and only offers ice cream. The waitstaff was somewhat friendly but lacks good customer service. No one offers “Real” Chinese food in the area, and if North China step up their game, they could be it! Btw, we visited this place on Chinese New Year for lunch, and I’m surprised that they didn't offer any specials to commemorate the holiday.

I celebrated my birthday last night in this great place. Well we had a superb evening and the place was indeed one of the reasons for the strong gathering. The crew helped in a lovely way, the meals were extremely good and my friends were very glad. We shall no dout visit again for more joyful events. Thank you very much.

The food is always so fresh and amazingly good. I been going there since I was a kid. The owners and their son's have always been so polite with great service!

We love this place! The food is fresh and each plate has a distinct and delicious flavor. Our favorites are North China Chicken, Spicy Pepper Pork, Honey Walnut Shrimp (if you're not into sweet foods! Request the sauce on the side) and to accompany it Vegetable Chao Main and white rice. The service is excellent and the environment is pleasant, cozy, elegant and inviting. Totally recommend it.

I was on the north side of town picking up my car. I usually go to North China for the lunch specials. They are a little expensive other times. I went by to see if they were still open. I was greeted at the front door. The young lady asked if I wanted to order drive to the back. She handed me a menu and pointed out the phone number. They made it convenient and were super nice and super attentive. Well worth the money. And I usually don't rate businesses. Thank you.

I have eaten at North China before and the food was hot, moist and juicy. Today I ordered take out. While the food was plentiful, it was very dry. The Sweet and Sour Pork were not in sauce and there was no extra on the side. I ordered the upgraded Won Tom Soup. Lots of extras, but very few Won Ton's. Maybe once they are able to have eat in service, I'll try them again. I don't feel I got good value for the $60 I spent today.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal - sauteed green beans and tofu, hot and sour soup. Honestly, the hot and sour soup is the basis for my very positive review, as green beans and tofu are hard to mess up :-). The soup, as well as the selection in the menu were impressively good. Service was also excellent. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Santa Maria!

First time, stopped in with friends. Be aware the servings are generous. But the flavor was excellent! We had the peppered pork, fried rice and Mongolian beef. Definitely recommend them! Friendly wait staff, nice homey vibe. ... We'll be back.

Food was good. Service was ehUPDATE: We decided to give it another try after over a year of not coming. The food was still very good...and the service was still eh. There were four dining room staff. One seemed like she tried and the other three were not at all and it showed. Maybe another update next year...

BEST CHINESE FOODI'm so upset that I have to drive 30 mins to eat bomb Chinese food.And the portions are HUGE sharing sizes for sure. You can not go wrong here, especially with how great their prices are. The food is fresh and delicious! I would eat here every day if I lived closer.

The best Chinese restaurant so far in the area. Honey walnut, beef Mongolian, house special noodles and house fried rice was good. Good portions and service was on point.

Too much oil. All dishes taste similar, of soy source, oyster source, and so, much, oil.

Once again everything was amazing the curry shrimp with spot on the eggplant was to die for it if it appeals to you I definitely suggest ordering that and five flavor pork was perfect and of course the staff was amazing waitresses all care and take wonderful care of you and everything around you. This place always makes me smile before and after

Oh my goodness. This is my new favorite restaurant when I travel to Santa Maria! Outstanding service. I was greeted immediately and all of the staff was so helpful and nice. I had the mongolian beef prepared gluten free, and it was delicious. Highly recommend this place!

Best Chinese food in area. Nice people, super fast, fresh food. Always reliable and great. We've been coming here for 15 years and thought they deserved a review from me. Forgot...kids love walking through the prep area in back to pick up food. Obviously this place not ashamed of their kitchen.

What can I say - this place is awesome. My parents started coming here before I was born and when I come back into town North China is ALWAYS on the required visiting list. The Moo Shu Pork is Devine, the shrimp fabulous! Everything we have ever had here is phenomenal!

I've been eating there since they opened in 1982. The food is always sooooo delicious, it has never been less than fantastic. I have my favorite dishes, of course. Michael, the owner, is almost always there to insure the patrons are treated well and that the food is prepared properly and as quickly as possible. They just reopened after the Covid19 restrictions, and unfortunately, it was for take out only. Can't wait to eat inside again!

This place is where the Santa Marians go for good Chinese food. Fresh & fast. Can serve large parties. Really large portions & I usually take half home for another meal.Parking can be tricky but a short walk to the front door. Or park around the back.Family friendly. Prices are very fair. Lots of takeout if you don't have time to dine in. A wide selection of foods on their menu.

I hadn't been to NC in a little over a year. The taste and consistency of the food has changed. Maybe because we went for lunch. I expect great taste regardless if it's lunch or dinner.

Rare opportunity to find such a genuine Chinese cuisine out side of china, Along with the taste of the food EVERY plate is made fresh. The use of veggies and meat a present, One complementing the other. Neither out does the other, perfect portions, usually more that you can carry home. Staff attentive to your every need. The owners supervise which seem to be ten waitresses in all actuality its only five. Take my advice, two people can order the dinner for two and two people will gather more than two people can eat.

Just passing through the area in the mood for some Chinese food, and was very delightfully surprised with a last minute find! Had their orange chicken, it was wonderful! Would certainly suggest If you were in the area looking for a casual bite.

Amazing place with fabulous, quick footed staff! We barely ordered and were served almost immediately! The North China chicken was splendid with this incredible sweet sauce. We also tried the honey walnut shrimp! It was this huge tower of delicious shrimp and honeyed walnuts. The hot tea is refreshing, almond cookies yummy and the staff is so friendly

Food is great, but went for a pick up one day and they tipped themselves over 10$ on my receipt. Not once have I ever had this problem anywhere else. Shady workers

Top 100 best restaurants is an understatement. Every birthday I ever had was here for dinner. Came here very often growing up, sister and cousin worked here for a period of time. Nothing compares to North China, wish everyone could try their food since going vegan they still have plenty of meat/dairy free options. My family was very close to the owners so I respect this place and noble their workers very much. Such a welcoming and comfortable environment💌 always been a 5 star restaurant to me.

So far the best Chinese food on the Central Coast. Even if you’re not vegetarian, the Tofu with Almonds is a must-try, being generous with the almonds. The Egg Rolls are not the typical snack-size but also generous with filling. Even the eggplant dish was satisfying. We’re happy! 😋

A little pricey but it's so worth it. The food was great. Service was good. They really accommodate during these trying times. Will come back again after quarantine for the whole time experience.

I was turned on to this place by a buddy about 5 years ago or so. This is by far the best Chinese food your are going to find for at least a hundred miles radius, if not more. Food is phenomenal and service is awesome, always very attentive. Give it a try, you will be pleasantly surprised.

We met with friends at this spot for lunch. we heard about this restaurant from a lot of people. Well, we were not disappointed. the staff members were so friendly and we felt fantastic. The meal was tasty. We loved this restaurant a lot and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Recommended.
